Ceremony Guide

Pre-Ceremony

I will arrive at least an hour before guests are due to arrive so that I can set up, sound check and be out of the way. If logistics allow, I usually sing a few songs as guests are settling into their seats (roughly 6 songs) which you are welcome to choose or you can leave up to me.

Some couples prefer me not to sing until the bridal party enters to give the moment more of an impact so please let me know if this is what you would like.

Ceremony Songs

Once the ceremony starts, I sing all of your own choices, which are:

Entrance Song

The first (roughly) minute and a half of a song is usually enough time for everyone to make it to the end of the aisle and then I will gently fade the song out once I can see you’re in position and everyone is ready for the ceremony to begin (Don’t forget to hand over your bouquet at this point)

I recommend one song choice for the bridal party entrance as it flows more seamlessly but we can blend two songs together if you’d like.

TIP : I suggest planning the aisle walk with your bridal party ahead of time and I can send you a sample recording to practise to if you’d like. The main things to consider are how long the aisle is, how many are in your bridal party and always remember nerves make people walk faster. If you’d like more help or advice with the entrance song please feel free to ask me.

Register Signing

I recommend picking three songs for this part of the ceremony. I might not be able to perform them all if things are moving quickly but it’s good to have more options than not enough. Especially if you are inviting guests to take photos at this point as it can take a good few minutes for people to manoeuvre in and out of their rows.

Exit Song

I love to make the exit song really upbeat so everyone can clap and cheer as you come back down the aisle (like a movie moment) I have a list of exit song inspo here but if you’d like a more low key, romantic exit, we can do that too so please let me know.

Song Choices

I will get in touch with you a few weeks before the wedding to discuss your song choices but if you want to be really organised or just tick if off your to-do list; you can give them to me whenever you’re ready.

I really encourage you to choose songs I already know and have perfected over the years to best of my ability. All of the songs I perform are on my songs page. If something is in my guitar repertoire but you’d prefer it with piano, that should be no problem at all, if I know it on any list I can usually perform it in various ways.

That being said, I always want you to have songs at your ceremony that are meaningful and memorable to you so if you want a song that isn’t on any of my lists; I’m always happy to learn it for you. This obviously can take up a lot of my time so I may ask for a small fee which I will add to the final invoice. The sooner I know about a new song request, the better I can prepare so let me know as soon as you can if you’re thinking of having a song that isn’t on my lists.

Please feel free to ask me any questions you have at any time by email or Instagram DM, or we can arrange a call if you prefer.
